The Last Shadow Puppets are returning from the shadow with a second album which is out now. The LP is called ‘Everything you came to expect’ which includes a song of the same name. The band had been away from the limelight for 8 years when they first came out in 2007 as a pair with their first album entitled ‘The age of the understatement’.

The Last Shadow Puppets is a British duo consisting of Arctic Monkeys’ lead singer Alex Turner and solo artist Miles Kane. The duo respectively from Sheffield and Liverpool, which makes them a Northern supergroup. The duo met when they were part of the bands Arctic Monkeys and The Rascals and announced in 2007 they were aiming at recording an album together. The material received success in the UK entering the number one position in the UK charts and included single such as ‘Standing next to me’. The band toured the world and received a Mercury Prize nomination in 2008.

Even though followers of the group may have expected the release of an album earlier than 8 years later following their first LP, the band came back in the limelight recently sharing new videos of new songs on their YouTube channel and official website. The album release was announced shortly after the band shared new material and is now available for purchase in both CDs and vinyls. The British duo has since then been performing series of shows in London, Paris and recently appeared in Japan for a few shows including Tokyo.Alex Turner is renowned to be the lead singer, lyricist and guitarist of Sheffield born group the Arctic Monkeys which gained recognition in 2006 with the release of their hit ‘I bet you look good on the dancefloor’ followed by their debut album ‘Whatever people say I am that’s what I’m not’ which was the fastest selling album in British music history. The band shortly after released their second LP a year following the release of the first one which was then followed by 3 more albums with AM being the latest one to be released in 2013. The Last Shadow Puppets formed in between Alex Turner’s album number 2 and 3 with Arctic Monkeys. Alex Turner has also been involved in a solo project by recording the soundtrack of Welsh movie ‘Submarine’ which was released as an EP consisting of 6 songs written by the singer.

Miles Kane, on the other hand first appeared in the spotlight with indie band ‘The Rascals’, he then went on embarking a solo career and has released a total of 2 studio records. He also appeared on stage with fellow members Arctic Monkeys for their song taken from album number 2 ‘505’.

Miles Kane and Alex Turner have moved on their friendship to making music together and create a sound, which was previously compared to the likes of David Bowie or The Beatles. Their next show in London aims at being held in Alexandra Palace on the 15th and 16th of July and the band may appear at various music festivals including Glastonbury or Paris based weekender ‘Rock en seine’ with a lineup which was announced recently on the official website.
