Adele released 21, her second album, in 2011 for XL Recordings. She recorded the album in Hollywood and London. Adele sings in both a powerful and subtle voice. She hits the high notes perfectly with expression and feeling.

Sometimes her music is groovy although with attitude. Adele’s 21, is probably my favourite album, and you can find it in all good record stores. If you’re lucky enough you can might find it on vinyl. My favourite song is ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and that’s the first song on the album.

Sometimes Adele sings mellow songs. Adele always sings about love and relationships. I guess she may feel separated from love. Adele inspires me to sing my whole life. Here’s what I think about the songs on the album.

‘Rolling in the Deep’

This song is about relationships. I think she sounds downhearted .When she sings the melody she reflects these emotions by singing very powerfully in some parts yet softly and touching on the high notes in other parts. This is called ‘being dynamic.’

‘Rumour Has It’

‘Rumour Has It’ is a strong song. The rhythm is upbeat and it makes me want to dance.

‘Turning Tables’

This song uses mainly piano and sometimes violin. This is a bit of a doleful song because it’s about breaking up yet it’s beautiful too because it’s also about love.

‘‘Set Fire to the Rain’

Adele sings really powerfully in this song.

‘Take It All’

This song is a ballad. A ballad is when there are one or two instruments in a song. There’s a lot of piano playing during the track however it’s mainly Adele’s voice you can hear.

‘I’ll Be Waiting’

Adele sounds happy and upbeat. She is enthusiastic and the instruments used in the song are drums and guitar. The melody is happier than the other songs.

‘One and Only’

Adele’s lyrics are happy although when she sings, you can hear how sorrowful she feels because she is so much in love.

‘Love Song’

Adele sings about having lost her love, yet she thinks back to when they were together and how she loved her boyfriend so much. She is still thinking about him.

‘Someone Like You’

The instrumentation is very mellow, yet her voice is strong. Adele is giving her best wishes to her ex-partner. She feels melancholic about breaking up however she hopes she will find love again.
