New York based band The Strokes are currently back in the studio and are set to release a new single. Since ‘Modern age’ EP followed with debut album ‘Is this it’ released under London Rough Trade records, The Strokes seemed to have been described as a major influence and reference to many artists with the likes of Arctic Monkeys and its frontman Alex Turner often referring to the 5 piece as being part of their musical landscape; notably in an interview with NME magazine where Alex Turner described why he was fond ofThe Strokes.

While being away from the limelight as a 5 piece New York band, member Julian Casablancas got involved in other musical projects. Indeed, the lead singer of the band recorded a solo album entitled ‘Phrazes for the young’ which was taking inspiration from famous writer and playwright Oscar Wilde with hits such ‘Out of the blue’ or ‘11thdimension’ to name a few with lyrics quotingthe latter Mr. Wilde. He also collaborated with French electronic music duo Daft Punk with the release of melancholic single ‘Instant Crush’ in 2013.
His most recent project on the side of The Strokes was his collaboration with American Grunge band ‘The Voidz’ where frontmanCasablancas saw himself recording and releasing an album named ‘Tyranny’ with the sound of angry guitars which brought about a slight changein what Strokes’frontman was usually doing with his fellow band members.
Another member of the band, guitarist Albert Hammond Jr. saw himself making his solo debut with first album ‘Yours to keep’ released in 2006, he has made 3 albums so far and has been touring in various countries all around the world.
