Following her nomination for ‘Best Play’ at the Global Summit organised by Angelina Jolie and William Hague, international playwright and singer/songwriter, K-Syran, continues her campaign for women by becoming the musical voice of International Women’s Day 2016 on March 8th with her track, ‘Intimacy’. Written for women, about women, K-Syran aims her musical message may support and inspire women across the world. K-Syran aims to be performing this track live on 8th March at Yamaha Music London as a vibrant celebration of IWD – limited number of tickets available.
‘Intimacy’ is the lead track from her outstanding album, ‘Smoke In My Veins’, which was released in Autumn 2015. K-syran wrote ‘Intimacy’ after reading a book about a sensual and beautiful middle-aged woman. The track is a celebration of womanhood, a call to women to celebrate her femininity, irrelevant of age or looks. K-Syran encourages every woman and girl to recognise the beauty within and use this to strengthen and empower themselves this International Women’s Day.
“Whilst men are on the frontline in war, women are often left behind the scenes. We need to unite as a global unit to give confidence and empowerment to women everywhere this International Women’s Day. The power and joy of song has the ability to comfort and inspire each individual, whatever their situation may be, which is why I’ve given my song ‘Intimacy’ as a gift to every woman on March 8 2016,” comments the inspirational K-Syran.
‘Intimacy’ follows in hot pursuit of K-syran’s previous single, ‘‘Heartless’ – remixed by Mark Loverush and huge dance hits which stormed into Top10 of the UK dance charts during the first week of their release. Thus proving that K-Syran seems to have the power to inject vibrant, uplifting emotion in everyone who hears her.
Norwegian born mum of 4, K-Syran, is a director, writer, actress and singer-songwriter who may be well known for her acting achievements on stage and screen including ‘Voyage in the Dark’ at The Young Vic. However, K-Syran’s stunning soprano voice seems to have always led her to sing in each of her productions as her tender vocals always got her noticed. With her father being a professional drummer, K-Syran was deeply inspired by music from a young age. Classical, pop, rock, jazz and techno influences all fuse together in a wonderous musical melting pot which creates the distinctly unique K-Syran sound. K-Syran nurtured her voice as lead vocalist for a number of groups including, a Jazz-group based in Montreux, a hard Rock- group in Geneva and Rock-group, Daje Zik. However it’s as a solo artist which K-Syran seems to enjoy the greatest success.
Running parallel to her catapulting music success, K-Syran seems to be also making mammoth waves on the global arts scene. In 2015 she took her own play, ‘Breaking The Silence’ to New York. The play was nominated ‘Best Play’ at the London Summit organised by Angelina and William Hague. Added to this, K-Syran is in the forthcoming feature film, ‘Effie’, as well as starring in a new UK comedy series, ‘Head’. K-Syran has also been cast in a big feature film as second lead with Tamsin Craig.
As a woman whose self-belief and strength has seen her catapulted to almighty success, K-Syran aims now to unite every woman with the empowering gift of song this International Women’s Day. Unite and share the intimacy!
