With over 80 million Youtube hits, Britain’s Got Talent ‘golden buzzer’ pop duo delight the kids of the UK with the announcement of their debut album and UK tour.
With almost over 80 million views on Youtube for their ‘golden buzzer’ hit from Simon Cowell on Britain’s Got Talent last year, the UK pop duo, Bars & Melody announce the release of their debut album, ‘143’ on 21st August, preceded by the new single ‘Beautiful’ and a string of tour dates across the UK. Check out the spoof BGT video for ‘Beautiful’, a tongue-in-cheek tip of the hat to that famous ‘golden buzzer’ moment from Mr Cowell!

Bars & Melody (aka BAM) are Leondre Devries (14) and Charlie Lenehan (16), the two Brit musicians who entertained UK TV audiences in 2014 when Simon Cowell pressed his golden buzzer for them. The video of that moment scooped over 80 million hits, BAM were signed to Cowell’s SYCO deal for a x1 release single deal for ‘Hopeful’ which shot to No5 in the UK charts. Since then the boys have played numerous sell-out gigs in the UK, flown to America to appear on the ‘Ellen’ show and even spent two weeks in Australia as ambassadors for the Princess Diana Anti-Bullying trust.
Throughout 2015 BAM have been busy putting the finishing touches to their debut album ‘143’, which is set for release this summer. March and April saw the band perform on a sold out headline tour in the UK. They also played at the We Day events at Wembley and Seattle in the US.
With a strong fan following, named fondly by the boys as their ‘BAMbinos’, Bars & Melody are rapidly snowballing envious support on social media (stats below). This band is raising the bar and pumping up the melody, the Bars & Melody phenomenon has only just begun and The Positive caught up with them for a quick chat ahead of their UK tour:
How has your life changed since BGT? It all changed over night for us. It came with a bang and was the best moment of my life.
How does it feel to be so young with a debut album ready for release?
“It feels amazing! I am looking forward for all the fans to hear our new music and see what we are truly about!”
What may we expect from the album, did you write it all yourselves?
“Yes the whole album was written by ourselves. We enjoyed every second and it makes us feel even prouder when we know we wrote the tracks ourselves. We worked with some incredible producers to help make the album perfect.”
What might we expect from the UK tour?
“An amazing show full of fun that’s what we’re about making sure everyone has a good time!”
What’s next for BAM?
“Who knows its still early days for us but we are going in the right way with the right team, [we’re] only [able to] go upwards from here.”
The debut album ‘143’ is released on 21st August 2015. The new single ‘Beautiful’ is released on 21st August 2015
