Puzzles or keepsakes?

My brother and I love 3D puzzles!

Last year I wrote about the really awesome 3D gifts which were around on the high street for us ‘creative kids’ who really like to get our teeth into making something we can keep and use afterwards. For instance 3D glasses, movies, pens and even jigsaw puzzles, it was as if the world had gone 3D-tastic. Now for 2017, the craze just ramped up a gear as Ravensburger release a collection of super cool 3D puzzles which build into beautiful and useful items for our bedrooms. Girls, you’re going to love what’s in store for you!

The Ravensburger 3D Puzzle Collection takes completing a jigsaw puzzle to a whole new level. This stunning and innovative range of 3D puzzles includes stylish items such as a Vanity Box, Jewellery Tree, Pencil Holder and a Flower Vase which holds water and real flowers. Each of the four items is available in either an elegant Unicorn design or as Funky Owls. Simply complete your favourite puzzle and use it to decorate your room.

The lovely people at Ravensburger sent me a bundle of goodies to try out and make for myself (there’s so many I’m still enjoying them). The Jewellery Tree really grabbed my attention because I’ve never had one of those and I loved the fact it had a different image on either side. There’s a Funky Owl and a Unicorn design to choose from. I love unicorns, so I opted to build that one first.

It was good fun to build. Normally I do creative things on my own, however these 3D puzzles are numbered on the back to help us to get the jigsaw pieces in the right order, so I pulled in my brother, Luca’s help. He’s obsessed with numbers and getting things in the right order, so he enjoyed sorting the pieces into numerical order for me. It made the process really fun for both of us – each doing something we really enjoy. I found completing the final parts of the frame were a little tricky, however with mum’s help, this was soon sorted. The final result looks so cool.

3D puzzles are cool!

However I far from think the fun ceases there, now I may spend hours making new jewellery and finding things to hang on my new tree. Plus, because the Tree has a double-sided image, I can swap from one picture to the other so I always have something fresh to look at. Next I’ll be building the matching vase (it actually holds water so you are able have real cut flowers in it), then there’s the really cute pen holder and open-topped jewellery box. They all start as puzzles, yet end up as gorgeous items which have a real job and purpose in every girl’s bedroom – so cool!

Although, if 3D the opposite of your thing, there are some really exciting new traditional puzzles in the range, which may fill in some wonderful hours over this Christmas. This is because Ravensburger are launching a celebratory 20th Anniversary Edition of their most popular Christmas range. Like a box of crackers or a Christmas pudding, a Ravensburger puzzle has become part of a family’s traditional festive celebration. A brand new design is commissioned each year, so the puzzles are highly sought after collector’s items. This year’s image depicts ‘Santa’s Christmas Party’. With a hand-drawn illustration showing Santa, Mrs. Christmas and Santa’s helpers celebrating after another busy Christmas Eve

So whether you’re a traditional puzzle fanatic or if you’re looking for something more modern with the 3D collections, there’s something to get everyone jiggy on the jigsaw!

You’re able to buy the 3D puzzle collection from all good toy and gift stores or from Amazon. For more info visit: https://www.ravensburger.com/
